Colin's fate is finally revealed and we are shown a town coping with a bitter dose of reality. The Brown family must once again adjust to new surroundings as the town turns their back on them. Amy is asked to arrange a memorial for Colin at their school and is upset by the discovery of the letter written by Colin to Dr. Brown before the surgery.

Ephram is focused on his Juilliard audition, which has surprising results. Amy's lack of interest in college preparation alarms her mother. Bright's poor grades get him kicked off the football team. Meanwhile, Andy tries to help a cheerleader with ruptured breast implants, who cares more about looking good than her own health.

The Abbott family is turned upside down by the return of Dr. Linda Abbott, who has been practicing Eastern-based medicine in exotic locations the world. Meanwhile, Andy learns that some 'tweens may be practicing unsafe sex, and is shocked at their parents reaction to the situation. Finally, Bright asks Ephram to keep an eye on Amy, whose odd behavior has everyone worried.

Andy hires college student Madison Kellner as a caretaker for Delia. Meanwhile, Andy's concern for Colin's alcoholic father blinds him to Nina's struggles with her divorce proceedings. Dr. Abbott continues to clash with his sister, when she tries to take over his office and the difference in their personalities and medical philosophies become alarmingly clear.

Dr. Brown gets his first house call. Everwood enjoys it's annual Fall Thaw, which prompts a festival to celebrate. Delia gets in trouble at school. Amy asks Ephram to ask his Dad to help Colin.

Nina announces that she is a surrogate mother for a woman the town later finds out is in her mid-50s. Andy's clumsy attempt to defend Nina backfires, but she still turns to him when her baby makes an unexpected early arrival. Amy's friends uninvite Ephram to a party. Delia attempts to befriend Magilla, the school bully.

Dr. Brown and Dr. Abbott educate the town of Everwood after several of their teenaged patients are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease. Ephram and Amy go to Denver so Amy can ask Colin to the Fall Dance.

After a lost deer makes the Browns backyard its new home, Andy insists on accompanying Ephram who decides to help the animal find its way home to the wilderness. Ephram admits to Amy that he never asked his father to consider operating on Colin. Delia questions the existence of God.

Dr. Trott arrives in Everwood. Amy and Ephram are upset when Andy decides not to operate on Colin. Delia is forbidden from playing with her new friend, Magilla, after they are caught playing dress-up.

Dr. Brown operates on Colin. Meanwhile, a series of flashbacks reveals what really happened on that 4th of July and why Bright feels more responsible than he's been admitting.

As his wedding anniversary draws near, Andy loses all hope and questions whether he will ever feel his life is worth living again. Ephram and Amy share their first kiss while on a field trip. Dr. Abbott takes dance lessons.

Julia's parents come to town. Andy feels left out when Ephram and his grandfather decide that Ephram should go back with them to New York. Edna and Nonni do battle over how Delia should behave.

Delia throws a birthda party for a grumpy Edna. Everyone ends up snowed in for the night when a big snow storm hits town. Bright's appendix bursts and Dr. Brown has to improvise and operate before the infection spreads.

Ephram does his best to recreate his mother's Thanksgiving traditions to help lift Delia's spirits. Dr. Abbott attempts to befriend the entire town when he has a health scare and dreams that nobody attends his funeral. To save a man's life, Dr. Brown must find the man's missing brother who is believed to live in the woods.

Everwood is buzzing with rumors of UFOs and aliens after locals observe something strange in the sky. Dr. Brown and Dr. Abbott treat a man with a mysterious sleep disorder. A grounded Amy uses Edna to try and see Colin. Ephram feels the pressure of his first piano recital in Everwood.
