It was not long after the debut of Everwood that Chris Pratt won the hearts of America, but it was a move long in the making. Hailing from Virginia, Minnesota, Pratt graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1997. Later in 2000, he found himself working at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant in Maui, Hawaii. It was a stroke of fortune any aspiring actor dreams of. After impressing one of his guests, director-actor Rae Dawn Chong, he was offered a part in her feature film Cursed 3. Pratt later traveled to New Zealand to film a pilot for The X-Team, which was unfortunately not picked up. Luck has never been in short supply for this young actor and it was not long before he was auditioning for the role of Bright Abbott in Everwood. Keeping with his personal tradition, Chris listened through the door after his audition to hear the reaction of the casting team. They were wowed by his performance and he was soon offered the part. Making time to stay in touch with his parents, brother and sister continues to be a priority for Chris, as does pursuing his other passions, including snowboarding, painting and fly-fishing.
